We work with leadership teams to define where your organization is going,
why that's the right direction, and how to build the alignment needed to get there.

Where we can help.
A good strategy requires more than a good plan. Our five capability areas guide organizations from setting the right direction to building the alignment and structures needed to execute it.
A strategy is only as good as the alignment behind it.
We work with executive and senior leadership teams to define where the organization is going and build a strategy grounded in reality. That means surfacing the questions leadership needs to grapple with, building the fact base needed to answer them, and making sure the direction you set is one the whole organization can execute on.
Common Challenges
- The organization knows what outcomes it wants, but has never built a real strategy to get there.
- Past strategy work produced a plan that sat on a shelf instead of shaping decisions.
- Teams operate off their own priorities, with no shared direction across the organization.
The strategy work happening across your organization needs someone to keep track of it.
Most organizations are constantly doing strategy work, but few have a function dedicated to keeping it all connected. An Office of Strategy Management (OSM) ties strategy to execution by maintaining governance, keeping priorities visible, and making sure the work happening across the organization is moving the strategy forward. We help organizations build, design, or operate that function.
Common Challenges
- The organization has a strategy, but no one owns implementing it.
- Initiatives aren't connected to the strategy in any meaningful way.
- There are too many priorities and no real way to manage them against each other.
How your team gets to a decision matters as much as the decision itself.
We design and facilitate experiences focused on two things equally: the outcomes your leadership team needs to reach, and the experience of getting there. A well-designed offsite or planning session does more than produce the decisions you need. It surfaces what’s in the way, strengthens the team, and leaves your leaders with the shared conviction to move forward together.
Common Challenges
- Leadership has the same conversations without ever reaching a resolution.
- Offsites and planning sessions feel productive in the moment, but nothing changes afterward.
- Leaders need an outside facilitator so they can fully participate in the process.
Governance is where your strategy meets execution.
Strategy governance is the mechanism that tells you whether your strategy is working. We help organizations build the structures, cadences, and accountability needed to track progress, connect initiatives to strategic outcomes, and know when the strategy itself needs to be revisited.
Common Challenges
- The organization has a strategy but no way to tell if the work is moving it forward.
- Leadership reviews happen, but nothing changes as a result of them.
- The strategy hasn't been reassessed since it was set, even as the business has changed.
A strategy will travel only as far as the narrative behind it.
Strategy communication is the work of making sure the right people understand the strategy, can articulate it, and are aligned behind it. We help leadership teams build the narrative, key messages, and proof points needed to communicate their direction clearly across the board, the executive team, and the broader organization.
Common Challenges
- The board doesn't have a clear picture of where the organization is headed, or why.
- Leadership has done the strategy work but can't articulate it in a way that lands with senior stakeholders.
- The strategy exists, but it hasn't been turned into something the organization can understand and act on.
We’ve been talking about our strategy for three years. The Gunter Group helped us to stop talking and start deciding. Within six months we had a direction the whole leadership team actually believed in–and could explain.”– Chief Strategy Officer Regional Healthcare System
