Founding Partner

Mike is passionate about client service and leading people. He founded The Gunter Group in 2011 with a different philosophy on consulting and building teams. He enjoys watching people grow, develop, and discover their true path. Mike is a visionary and forward thinker with extensive multinational experience and a proven track record of serving clients. With more than 25 years of business leadership and consulting in a wide variety of challenging and ambiguous environments, Mike got his start in the industry at Deloitte Consulting and has since held executive leadership positions in consulting, supply chain services, and public education organizations. He has experience in manufacturing, retail, healthcare and education. Mike holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Auburn University and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. Outside of work, Mike spends his time with family, including his two boys, and tries to keep up with their many activities. He loves to travel and explore new and familiar places, tasting new wines while he is at it.

Ashleigh brings over 30 years of management consulting experience with deep expertise in the evolving healthcare market. She combines practical insight, a strong grasp of organizational culture, and a focus on results to help clients drive impactful change in health plans—boosting employee engagement, enhancing HR experiences, and reducing costs for employers and employees. A strong advocate for direct Employer-Provider relationships, Ashleigh has played a pivotal role in developing Community Owned Health Plans across multiple states, earning recognition for driving employee participation. Her career spans leadership roles at Andersen Consulting/Accenture, Deloitte Consulting, and The Gunter Group, where she has advised Fortune 100 C-suite executives. Ashleigh holds an M.B.A. in Strategic Management and Organizational Change from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.S. in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Denver.

Matt’s passion and leadership purpose is all about helping teams reach their highest potential. He loves building and leading high-performing teams and seeing what can be accomplished when strong values, sound strategy, and a relentless commitment to execution collide. He is a trusted advisor who thrives on building lasting partnerships and driving high-quality solutions for clients. With more than 19 years of strategy, program leadership, and organizational transformation experience in a wide variety of challenging and ambiguous environments. Matt brings a deep knowledge of implementing enterprise-wide transformations across people, process, and technology domains. He works with a broad range of clients on their organizational challenges and opportunities and has advised clients in the retail, education, finance, and professional services industries and served as a leader in the military and nonprofit sectors.Matt graduated from the United States Air Force Academy with a B.S. in business management and is a Certified Scrum Master, a Certified SAFe Agilist and has addition certifications in program management, LEAN, and contract management. He has spent the majority of his academic, military, and consulting career studying and employing character-based leadership principles in challenging and ambiguous environments. Outside of being a loving husband and father, Matt enjoys the intersection of all things hockey, heavy metal, fitness, and beer.

Tony builds teams to support strategic change initiatives and help leaders plan for highly impactful change. Thriving in the face of complex problems, he brings clarity to ambiguous situations and organizational questions. Leaders quickly come to trust Tony as a partner in making their tough decisions. A former Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy, Tony’s leadership and management philosophy is tempered by a career of bringing calm and planning to high-impact, high-stress scenarios. His track record of success in defining and overcoming challenges in demanding environments has led to consistent portrayals of him as an outstanding manager and a leader among his peers. His skill set is under-girded by his formal education in the Humanities, holding a Bachelors Honors degree in both Philosophy and Theology from the University of Notre Dame. In addition to an aggressive reading habit, Tony is deeply interested in everything that the Sierra Nevada mountains have to offer. Sun, snow, backpacking, and skiing all keep him, his wife, and kids busy in their free time.

Angela is an experienced management consultant with over 15 years of experience in business analysis, project management, systems implementation and quality improvement. She loves the ambiguous and changing nature of complex projects and has a proven track record of developing the systems, processes, and tools necessary to make the complex simpler. Angela’s open, collaborative working style and can-do attitude fosters team building and cross-functional communication. Angela has deep expertise in leading large global projects for Fortune 500 companies with locations across North America, South America, and Europe. She holds both a Bachelors in Finance and Biology from the University of Georgia and a certification in IT Infrastructure Library. She is also a Certified Scrum Master and Project Management Professional. Angela is a travel junkie and in her spare time enjoys globetrotting to some faraway locale.

Jenna is an experienced consultant who helps organizations manage change and build stronger, more adaptable teams. With more than 20 years of experience, she brings deep expertise in change management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness. She has led transformation initiatives for Fortune 500 clients in industries including retail, financial services, and manufacturing, always with a focus on practical execution and long-term results. Jenna is known for her collaborative leadership style and her ability to create clarity in complex environments. Outside of work, Jenna enjoys time with her family, whether she’s cheering on her daughters at the soccer field, exploring the outdoors, or traveling together.

Principal

For more than 18 years, Jim has been leading diverse teams in the military, retail/e-commerce, and health care sectors. Jim has spent years driving change in a variety of areas within various client organizations with a focus on leading teams through digital transformation. Jim has led program and project teams, coached Agile teams and product managers, as well as worked with teams through new product development, process improvement, and developing communications strategy. Jim serves as TGG’s Agile Services Lead and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Portland, an M.A. in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a B.A. in Political Science from Youngstown State University. He is also a certified Scrum Master, SAFe Agilist, Agile Coach and Gallup Clifton Strengths Coach.

Matt is an experienced solutions architect with a results-oriented understanding of the intersection between reality and architectural theory. He has the ability to plan, develop, and implement large-scale projects while maintaining impeccable attention to detail. With 20 years of functional information technology experience, Matt has end-to-end IT knowledge from layer 1 networking to application API interaction. An expert in mapping technology solutions to business needs, Matt is also able to conform to required regulations while maintaining IT best practices. Matt’s experience spans multiple industries, including healthcare, telecommunications, and security and software. He is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect and a Certified SAFe 5 Agilist. Outside of work, Matt enjoys the outdoors and all things bike-related.

With over 22 years of multinational experience in the Consulting industry, Perin is a passionate problem solver that focuses on helping people make connections and identify ways to improve processes, structures, and gain strategic efficiencies. Perin is an energetic and relationships focused leader that uses a listen-first approach to help align organizations and teams towards a common goal. She seeks opportunities to learn about new industries and understand new problems facing businesses of all sizes. Perin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Information Systems, and a Master’s degree in Telecom Engineering. Perin loves spending time with her two children and husband, skiing, exploring, photography, reading, and catching up on TV shows.

Rebecca Whitehead is a strategic-minded healthcare operator, consulting executive, P&L owner, and board director with more than 20 years’ experience creating, growing, and transforming innovative care and business models in a profitable way, scaling operations, partnering with payors, and delivering purpose-driven services. She is happiest when partnering with others to solve problems and bringing her creative juices to develop new strategies. Steve leads the Strategy Practice at The Gunter Group where he partners with senior executives and leadership teams in the experience of creating long-term strategies. A gifted facilitator, teacher, and thought partner, he has spent over twenty years advising Fortune 500 companies, government entities, academic institutions, and not-for-profits across a variety of industries and geographies, including extensive international experience. Steve is passionate about empowering clients to establish and execute their organization’s strategy by guiding them to answer the questions, “Where are we going?” and “How will we get there?” Beyond consulting, Steve serves on not-for-profit boards and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the topics of strategy, finance, economics, and organizational behavior. Steve holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Boston College and a M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. He is a PROSCI Certified Change Practitioner, Certified Associate in Project Management, holds a green belt in Six Sigma, and is accredited in various psychometric, emotional intelligence, and group dynamics assessments (MBTI, ESCI, NBI). Known for her ability to navigate ambiguity and mobilize teams, Beth ensures transformation efforts are both effective and well received. She holds an M.A. in Speech Communication with a specialization in Organizational Communication from Texas A&M University and a B.A. in Speech Communication and German from Willamette University. Outside of work, Beth is a classically trained soprano who performs with the Oregon Repertory Singers. She also enjoys hiking, experimenting in the kitchen, and traveling.

He began his career as an Architect at Infosys Technologies and went on to spend over 15 years with The North Highland Company as a Principal Consultant. In this role, he partnered with organizations across diverse industries—including automotive manufacturing, supply chain logistics, and healthcare—helping them modernize their technology ecosystems and achieve measurable business outcomes. Throughout his career, Sanjay has demonstrated strong leadership in guiding teams and business executives to successfully adopt and scale transformative technologies such as cloud computing, intelligent automation (RPA and AI), mobile solutions, enterprise integrations, data science, and process reengineering. Brad is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and is well-respected for his strong communication skills and adaptive approach. While in the Air Force, Brad served as a space operations officer where he consulted on satellite operations & procedures, operations courseware implementation, and system effectiveness and suitability. Brad leans on his proactive style and listen-first mindset when tackling organizational challenges and enjoys collaborating with stakeholders on projects that don’t have a clear road map.
