Steve leads the Strategy Practice at The Gunter Group where he partners with senior executives and leadership teams in the experience of creating long-term strategies. A gifted facilitator, teacher, and thought partner, he has spent over twenty years advising Fortune 500 companies, government entities, academic institutions, and not-for-profits across a variety of industries and geographies, including extensive international experience. Steve is passionate about empowering clients to establish and execute their organization’s strategy by guiding them to answer the questions, “Where are we going?” and “How will we get there?” Beyond consulting, Steve serves on not-for-profit boards and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the topics of strategy, finance, economics, and organizational behavior. Steve holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing from Boston College and a M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. He is a PROSCI Certified Change Practitioner, Certified Associate in Project Management, holds a green belt in Six Sigma, and is accredited in various psychometric, emotional intelligence, and group dynamics assessments (MBTI, ESCI, NBI). Steve and his wife have three children and two Labrador retrievers at home with them outside Portland, Oregon.
